The two plus years of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in students’ overexposure to the digital world.  At GGIS we believe too much screen time is unhealthy and students whose education is limited to online classes lack important elements of a well-rounded education. Our academic programs are enhanced by the use of technology both in the classroom and at home; it is a tool that cannot be neglected in any well rounded educational program. As a practical goal we train each student to be proficient at  Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Our students are exposed to research and writing tools that will serve them their entire lives. Knowing that our students spend many hours online each day, we endeavor to safeguard our students by teaching them the proper use of technology and how to avoid the pitfalls that can negatively impact and even destroy their lives. Our staff is dedicated to emplanting our core values of  morality, discipline and respect into the digital lives of our students. These timeless principles will guide our students to recognize and avoid dangerous and risky online behaviors, and help establish ethical boundaries they need to lead them in their choices while engaged with the digital world.

We believe that developing healthy relationships and learning important life skills require a person-to-person, face-to-face learning environment. Research shows that our happiness, well-being and even lifespan depend on the quantity of high quality relationships we have with others. Therefore, one of the important objectives at GGIS is to train students in relationship building.

Skills like empathy, understanding, listening, forgiving, reading non-verbal communication, picking up on social queues and how to communicate in a way that is caring and loving cannot be developed online. The in-person classroom experience where students have real face-to-face encounters with other people is the best place for these skills to be developed. At GGIS we believe that academic discipline, faith in God and relationship building skills are key components to a successful life.

We believe it is vital to train our students not only in knowledge but also in wisdom. The following verses from Proverbs 3 describe well our everyday objective in every classroom. 

‍“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Wisdom is the real goal. If one gets wisdom, they have everything they need. Wisdom goes beyond knowledge to understanding and ultimately to the life skill of properly applying knowledge. At GGIS, wisdom is prized above academic knowledge.
